Throughout my postdoc, I have aimed to attend at least one conference each year—it’s been my way of staying inspired and connected to the academic world in a discipline (energy studies) in which I was a newcomer. As my postdoc is drawing to an end, this year marks the last one of this chapter, and I am very happy to wrap it up with SCORAI 2025!
For those unfamiliar, SCORAI (Sustainable Consumption Research and Action Initiative) is a conference that dives deep into sustainable consumption. This year’s theme, Mainstreaming Sustainable Consumption, is rather broad and interdisciplinary—a good fit for the work I’ve been focusing on.
Why SCORAI?
A few reasons, really:
Trusted colleagues suggested it, and after reading more about the event, it felt like the right “home” for the work I was/a focusing on. Also, the conference will also include two dedicated two special issues, giving my full paper a great chance at being published (I love special issues!)Not surprisingly, the conference will attract academics interested in a similar research area, therefore making it a great space for me to network, receive feedback, and exchange ideas.
Last but not least, SCORAI 2025 will be held in Lund, home of my beloved alma mater Lund University! I’m beyond excited to explore Lund’s streets again, soak up some nostalgia, and maybe reconnect with old friends and teachers there.
What I’ll Be Sharing
I’ll be presenting a paper I’ve been leading on the intersection of gender and energy efficiency. This topic became a large interest during my postdoc, and I truly believe the work offers meaningful contributions to both gender studies and energy studies. I’m looking forward to sharing it, discuss it, and connect with others exploring similar ideas.
April in Lund is going to be a mix of professional growth and personal reflection so I am very much looking forward to it!
